A gentle and subtle reflection on the fleeting nature of time, On Golden Pond focuses on elderly married couple Ethel and Norman Thayer. Every summer they decamp to their Maine holiday house, which sits on the banks of the lake called Golden Pond and this year they're joined by their daughter Chelsea, who also brings along her fiancee and step son. Chelsea and her father's relationship is strained to say the least, and what follows is a turbulent examination of their shared history that sets them on course for a reconciliation.

On Golden Pond first appeared on Broadway in 1979, and was immortalized on the silver screen two years later in an Oscar winning movie adaptation starring Henry Fonda, Katharine Hepburn and Jane Fonda.
