Unchain My Heart explores the strength, humor and musical genius of the pioneering musical artist.
Dance the night away to the soulful musical Unchain My Heart! This acclaimed production tells the story of singer and songwriter Ray Charles and how he rose to fame while overcoming adversity. The complex, troubled genius of Ray Charles is brought to light through his music, including such classics as "Georgia on My Mind," "What'd I Say," "Mess Around" "Hit The Road, Jack." and of course "Unchain My Heart"
First presented on Broadway by Stuart Benjamin in 2010 and continues to showcase Charles's incredible talent and influence. Before the musical Benjamin worked alongside Ray Charles for 15 years while creating the Oscar-nominated film Ray'. Set during a recording session, Charles' story is revealed through his pioneering music and covers his struggle with racism, and his addiction issues, stemming from his abusive childhood.
