Very dark and odd. Don’t waste your money. Highly disappointing. Ending is different from the original. Lights go off for long periods of time and you are in darkness. If this was intended to be some kind of artistic spin on the original broadway show it failed miserably.

PLEASE STOP CALLING IT “WOKE”
Casting actors of different ethnicities, gender identities and body sizes doesn’t mean a production is “woke” when the dialogue of the original show was barely changed and makes no sense when describing the character. The set design was unimaginative and lazy. It was hard to tell what was happening in the scene when characters just all stayed on stage even when other characters were speaking about them. Confusing use of props - there was a scene where Laurie was pouring then whipping milk. The bowl was then whipped by another character then a stagehand came out with a face mask and walkie talkie and removed it mid scene. There was a scene where everything went dark it was hard to tell if it was part of the show or a technical issue. During the 5 minutes of darkness, Curly essentially tells Jud to kill himself and a prop gun was set off 2x. (No warning was given about this) We left at intermission. I am confused by the positive reviews because I don’t think we saw the same show.

PTSD
I wish I had read the reviews before going. It should not have been advertised as "Rogers & Hammerstein's Oklahoma!" It is a grievous production of a long-loved musical. The staging, lighting and sound were of a high school or low budget local theater quality. The "artistic" changes were perplexing more than interesting or thought-provoking. Sitting in the dark listening to actors act is not my idea of entertainment. The ending was utterly baffling. I wish I had been warned. I feel cheated. As if I had given my money to a street magician only to find out there was never a ball under the cup in the first place. The actors - my favorites being Ado Annie and Ali Hakim - were doing their best and the singing was mostly fantastic (a few missed notes here and there). The staging was a miss. Seats at far stage L and far stage R have obstructed views so we couldn't see some major scenes. First time I have ever wanted my money back. $145 by the way. I could use it for my next therapy session

BIZARRE
I never saw a show where the cast looked like they couldn’t wait for the show to be over, although I also couldn’t wait for the show to be over!
I had expensive 2 nd row seats ,and when the cast member opened a beer I got quite a lot of the beer all over my dress pants! Not only did the show stink ,but so did my clothes😭.
The music was beautiful, and the casts voices were good , but the show itself was a yawn . The diversity of the cast ,although fashionable at this time , just came off as weird in many cases . If you like the music of “Oklahoma “, download the music ,save yourself some money !

ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE
The part that was expected was still just High-school quality performance. The parts that weren't expected were long periods in darkness, instant mega-loud heavy metal style guitar, start of second half was girl in short tights semi-dancing, semi dragging her butt across the stage, and going out of her way to show the audience her crotch. Voices were just OK. Whoever wrote the bulk of this crap should consider a new career. This was not art.

DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY
The worst show I've ever seen. Right up there with Mannheim Steamroller. Who wrote this stupidity? At one point, one of the performers actually opened a can of soda, took a sip, then shook it out over the front row audience. One couple got covered with soda, got up and left. What a total A-hole.

OKLAHOMA - DISAPPOINTED AT PROVIDENCE PPAC
We were disappointed with this show. The set was unprofessional, looked more like a set constructed for a high school production, the cast featured average performers, vocals, and were poorly casted. It was so bad at Providence's Performing Arts Center that many ticket holders left at intermission. My wife and I included.
